Phi Sigma Rho is a great way to meet new friends in engineering and architecture. When you join, you can stay active on campus, find help studying, take leadership roles, participate in social events, and even develop your career. Phi Sigma Rho is a fine balance between the academic and social sides of college life. You can go after one of the best degrees around and still experience it all. College only lasts for a few years, but the friendship and memories you will create will stay with you forever. |
A Little History. Abby McDonald and Rashmi Khanna Drummond founded Phi Sigma Rho at Purdue University on September 24, 1984. Abby and Rashmi were unable to participate in traditional sorority rushes due to the demands of their majors. Their academic careers were very important but they also knew that they wanted to be a part of a special group of women, so they decided to start a sorority for women in engineering and architecture. Today there are 17 chapters and 4 colonies of Phi Sigma Rho at universities across the nation. Phi Sigma Rho helps young women to truly grow and prosper. Sisters meet other women in the traditionally male-dominated fields and form bonds of friendship and encouragement. Phi Sigma Rho enables women to stay active, find study aids, lead and participate in community service, socialize, and develop a career. Phi Sigma Rho is a social and academic balance and offers involvement opportunities, while allowing women to excel in one of the best degrees around. The friendships and memories created within the sorority, studying and socializing, will be a part of members forever. |
